What this site stores, what our providers store, and what you can turn off — it is a short list.
Your own settings are not tracking
Clock format, working hours, theme, your time zone and your city lists are stored in your browser’s localStorage. They never leave your device, we cannot read them, and they are not covered by cookie consent because they are strictly functional — they exist only to give you back the settings you chose. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Your time zone is detected in your browser with the standard Intl API. That detection happens locally and the result is not sent to us.
No cookies, and no banner asking for any
This site sets no cookies at all. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to — a banner that asks permission for nothing is friction, not privacy. The settings described above are the only thing kept on your device, they are yours rather than ours, and functional storage of that kind needs no consent.
Audience measurement
We count visits with Umami, which is cookieless. It sets nothing on your device and reads no device identifier. To tell one visit from another it hashes the request — your IP address is used to compute that hash and is never stored, the hash cannot be reversed, and it is regenerated daily so it cannot follow you from one day to the next or from this site to any other. What we see is aggregate: how many people read a page, which site or search sent them, the country, and whether they were on a phone or a desktop. None of it identifies you, and there is no profile to build.
Advertising
No ads are served at present and no advertising cookie is set. We intend to fund the site with Google AdSense, and this section describes what will change when we do: Google may set cookies or read device identifiers to select and measure ads. Before that happens we will publish a consent message, so that visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked first and personalised advertising follows only from a grant — refusing leaves you with ads chosen from the content of the page rather than from anything about you, setting no cookie and reading no identifier. Until then nothing about advertising is stored or read. Google’s own description of what it collects is in its partner sites policy.
Server logs
Our host records standard request logs — IP address, user agent, the page requested and the time — to serve the site and to detect abuse. These are retained for a short operational period and are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile.
Legal bases and your rights
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, we rely on your consent for personalised advertising and any analytics, and on legitimate interests for limited advertising — which stores nothing on your device and reads no identifier from it — and for the server logs needed to run and secure the site. The same distinction applies under the Swiss revFADP. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability in respect of any personal data we hold, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority.
